Bio

Heaven & Earth, who released their third album last year entitled "Dig", is the brainchild of British guitarist Stuart Smith who was mentored by Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore. "Dig", which has been hailed unanimously by the press as the "Best Rock Album in the last 10 years", features, along with Smith on guitars, powerhouse vocalist Joe Retta (Sweet), bassist Chuck Wright (Quiet Riot/House of Lords), keyboard player Arlan Schierbaum (Joe Bonamassa), and long time drummer Richie Onori (Sweet).

Heaven & Earth established a following back in 1998 with the release of the first album “Heaven & Earth featuring Stuart Smith” which featured a myriad of guests such as Richie Sambora, Joe Lynn Turner, Glenn Hughes, Carmine Appice, Kelly Hansen and many others. A second album, “Widows to the World” was released in 2001 and featured ex Baton Rouge singer Kelly Keeling. In 2008 Smith took a hiatus to play in the reformed “Sweet” with bassist Steve Priest but quit in 2012 to concentrate on the new Heaven & Earth album.

A chance meeting with Bruce Quarto in 2008 set the wheels in motion and after assembling the band Smith and Quarto proceeded to spend the next 14 months producing what would turn out to be not only a labor of love but the best Heaven & Earth album to date. Producer Dave Jenkins was brought in to produce and record “Dig” which was recorded in Ocean Studios using analog tape and was released in April 2013 on Quarto Valley Records.

The band is currently in the studio recording their next album with a few personal changes. Joining Stuart Smith on guitar and Joe Retta on vocals is superstar drummer Kenny Aronoff, bassist Lynn Sorensen from Bad Company and keyboard player Ty Bailie who is currently touring with Katy Perry. The album which has been given a working title of "Far Out" is slated for release at the end of 2015.
