Bio

Maddi Tripp was born and raised in Covington, Louisiana, just 40 miles north of New Orleans, one of the world’s most prolific musical epicenters. Now 17, Maddi started singing when she was just four years old. Her musical roots run deep. Maddi’s mother and father were both singers and her grandmother sang on stage for 30 years, opening for Elvis Presley and receiving stage tips from Sammy Davis, Jr. Maddi has always been most comfortable singing to a live audience, and she always knew music was the path her life would take. Things got really interesting for her when, at 14, she auditioned for a performing arts school in New Orleans.

New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, NOCCA as it’s known, is the place where New Orleans’ most promising musical talent perfects their craft under the tutelage of some of our nation’s finest musical artists. While receiving instruction from the likes of the Marsalis brothers, Maddi formed life-long friendships with her fellow students. Those friendships persist today and are the basis of many of Maddi’s collaborative efforts.

A true singer/songwriter at heart, Maddi entered a national singing competition in Hollywood in June of 2015. At the end of the grueling four day event, she was awarded the honor of “Singer of the Year,” and was invited back to perform at this year’s competition as a past winner.

During the 2015 competition, Maddi attracted the attention of music producer Marc Williams, who she later signed with to produce her first E.P. The first fruits of their efforts can be heard in Maddi’s first single, “The One.”
