Bio

I am a native of East Cleveland, Ohio. My family is originally from Jamaica. My love for music began very young, always trying to sing songs off the radio and dance as a child. I found that artists run my family where my mother was a photographer, my father had a great love of music, my sister is an artist as well as a few of my nieces and cousins. At ten years old, I began doing music. Too afraid to go into voice, as a student in the F.O.C.U.S. S.C.O.P.E. program for the gifted, my school suggested picking up an instrument to hone in on my extra abilities. I chose trombone, because it was different and became an award-winning section leader in the renowned Shaw High School Marching Band, beginning in 7th grade. I played in a number of bands at Jackson State University and Hampton University including marching band, jazz band, symphonic band, concert band and pep band. I also learned to sing and play piano and in college. I was awarded a music scholarship and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Engineering Technology from Hampton University in 2008. After college, I pursued audio technology in New York City and explored education and acting back at home in Cleveland, Ohio in 2011. I began my own arts program, Ambitious Artists in 2013 teaching piano, voice and audio engineering which became an LLC in 2016. After a call to ministry the same year, I graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary May, 2019 with a Master of Divinity in Chaplaincy, cum laude. Currently, I am a pastor and chaplain with Harmony Hospice, I teach music with Ambitious Artists, recently doing a residency with The Cleveland Playhouse as a partner with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and I write Christian music.
